Key Club News:

The 2022 Key Club District Convention in Dearborn, MI was a success!  It felt so good to be back in-person after a year of meeting only virtually.   This weekend 175 Michigan high school Key Club members from 25 different high schools came together to celebrate the service work they accomplished this year. Awards are given to outstanding leaders at the club and state level for their hard work and for exceptional individual club projects.

The Key Clubbers participated in breakout sessions that covered various topics from leadership skills, club organization, mental health wellness training, hands-on service projects, fundraising techniques, K-Fam relations, and more.

A huge thanks to our very own District Administrator, Audrey Salesberry, for her leadership this year with the district board and organization of SLC. This was a particularly difficult year due to  last minute changes but Audrey and her board were always able to navigate the issues and come up with solutions that made for a successful convention.

Our club is so appreciative of the ongoing support, direction, and enthusiasm of the Benton Harbor/St. Joseph Kiwanis Club!

Our club brought home the following awards:

  • Early Bird Dues Award

  • 100% Minutes and Monthlies Award –

Special thanks to Secretary,  Mei Mei Saggau Drotos

  • Award for UNICEF fundraising

State Elected Positions:

A HUGE thank you to senior Jacob Remington for serving as our Lieutenant Governor for Division 8 this past year and also to senior Hannah Bogner who has served the state of Michigan Key Club for 3 years!  She was Lieutenant Governor for Division 8 in 2019-20 and District Editor in 2020-21 and 2021-22.  Their time and dedication as leaders has been outstanding!

And lastly, our club is proud to announce that sophomore Clara Berry was elected the 2022-23 Lieutenant Governor for Division 8 this weekend as well!  We look forward to her leadership in this new position and are so proud!
