 St. Joseph High School News 2/27/23 - 3/3/23 Scheduling Classes for Next School Year:  Students viewed a scheduling presentation during BEAR Time on 2/9 for the 2023-24 school year.  Take some time to discuss the Course Selection Form options with your student they brought home.  Please be mindful of the courses they select and refer to our Course Description Book and presentation for further information.  DEADLINES : FEB 13 – 21 – TEACHER RECOMMENDATION WEEK (during class) FEB 17 - CTE APPLICATION, OFF CAMPUS (CTE courses not at SJHS) - New this year! FEB 22 – MAR 3 – COURSE SELECTION ONLINE (Powerschool Registration, opens and closes at 3pm) MAR 6 – COURSE SELECTION FORM DUE in Guidance Office (signed by parent/guardian) Course Selection Forms (color coded by grade level) were handed out in BEAR Time meetings.  Absent students can pick up forms in the Guidance Office.  St. Joseph High School News 2/20/23 - 2/24/23 Spartan Strong:  Keep our kids and families off to college in your thoughts!  We have lots of SJHS alumni that attend MSU!  Challenging times for us all.   SJHS Powerlifting Results:  At Edwardsburg JV Power Lifters: 2nd Place Harry Kalin 165 2nd Place Aidan Johnson 181 1st Place Jackson Milnikel 194 These 3, along with Elvin Vu all qualified to go to the State Powerlifting Meet Varsity Power Lifters:  2nd Place Cole Lakin 181  (Currently ranked 19th in the State) 2nd Place Riley Biggins 220  (Currently ranked 9th in the State) Next Meet at Mona Shores on February 25th.  St. Joseph High School News 2/6/23 - 2/10/23 Bears of the Month:  February Bears of the Month! Congratulations to Kiley Hyaden & Breanne Pratley for being recognized as our February Bears of the Month at SJHS! SJHS Literary Magazine News:  Gut Feelings , the 2022 Literary Magazine for St. Joseph High School, earned an EXCELLENT ranking in the Recognizing Excellence in Art and Literary Magazines (REALM) Contest, sponsored by the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE). Schools in 42 states and five countries nominated 262 student magazines. SJHS was one of seven high schools in the state of Michigan to earn an award. The magazine includes original art and writing pieces from St. Joseph High School students in the 21-22 school year. The literary magazine editor was Sophie Confer (SJHS '22).
