High School Heroes:
This week, we feature Allison Koch and Ellie Volpi as our High School Heroes in Issue # 12.

Semester Exams:
Semester exams are coming quickly.  I would encourage you to talk with your student and have them start preparing now and not wait until the night before exams.  The exam schedule is posted below:

Wed. 1/24 – Hours 1 and 2
Thurs. 1/25 – Hours 3 and 4
Fri. 1/26 – Hours 5 and 6


LMC Dual Credit Registration Information:
LMC Dual Credit Registration Information for SPRING 2018:
 
Students enrolled in classes that are eligible for Lake Michigan College Dual Credit received information on December 6, 2017.  
A Lake Michigan College representative distributed the registration form and guidelines in classrooms. 
 
Registration deadline March 2, 2018 (exception: Athletic Training, Foods & Graphic Arts Deadline Feb 16, 2018).
Prerequisites and testing requirements must be met prior to submitting the registration form to the Guidance Office.

(Teacher signatures and test scores must be included with form.)

Art News:
Please congratulate following students from both Upton and the high school (click here for our Scholastic Art winners)who won regional Scholastic Awards. Upton MS and SJHS received a total of 108 individual art and design awards! These selected student works will be exhibited at the South Bend Museum of Art from 2/2/2018 - 3/10/2018. 36 of these student won gold and their works will be also judged in nationally in New York City. Since 1923, the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards have recognized the vision, ingenuity, and talent of our nation’s youth, and provided opportunities for creative teens to be celebrated.

(You will receive 2018-19 scheduling materials, learn about the high school scheduling process, meet department representatives and tour the school. 

This is a very important informational meeting and encourage all 8th grade students and their parents to attend.)
