Welcome Back!!
Happy New Year, 2018!!! Well
winter weather has definitely arrived.
Please take your time on the roads to and from school and if you would
please remind your student’s to plan ahead and account for a little more travel
time in the mornings with the road conditions for the remainder of the winter
months.
Also, we will be wrapping up
the 1st semester by the end of January and I would encourage you to
sit down with your student, review grades, and begin planning for semester exams,
which will take place Jan. 24th, 25th, and 26th.
Great to be back!
Mr. Blomgren
This

MLK Canned Food
Drive:
Every
year the Benton Harbor Soup Kitchen feeds thousands of meals to men, women and,
children in Benton Harbor who are in need of a hot meal. Last year they served
54, 473 meals. During this time of year its especially important to help
because many of the families the Soup Kitchen serve have to choose between
keeping the heating bill paid and putting food in their refrigerator or getting
vital medicine. For the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Day of Service please
join St. Joseph High School sophomore Iggy Laurent in helping the soup kitchen
by donating canned vegetables (like green beans or corn) and/or canned tomato
items (sauce, paste of canned whole tomatoes) throughout the week. The
collection will conclude at the end of the day Friday January 12 so that the
items can be delivered on MLK Day, January 15. The drop box is located in the
front office.
Foreign Exchange
Student Seeking Host Family:
Hello St Joseph High School Families,
Mr. Scherwitz from Rotary Youth Exchange is
looking for a host family for a 16-year-old girl from Japan. She is currently
attending St Joseph High School. She has been here since August and is
due for a second host family. Hosting her would give you an opportunity
in a cultural exchange and a look inside the Exchange Program.
My contact information is below.
