Robotics - Average Joes Update:
Go Joes! This past weekend the Average Joes traveled to Saginaw Valley State
University to compete in the State Robotics Championship.
It was a great weekend of competition, collaboration, learning, spirit and team bonding. After ending in 4th place after qualifications on the Dow field (out of 40 teams), the Joes became the 3rd place alliance captains. They won in the quarterfinals and semifinals. The finals were well fought and close, losing one match by only 3 points. However, the Joes lost in the Dow field finals to the 1st place alliance. They were also awarded the Innovation in Control Award. This is the farthest that the Joes have ever gone at the State Competition and the second State award ever received. The Joes end the season as the 14th ranked team in the State, which handily qualifies them for a place at the Championship in Detroit in a week and a half. There they will compete against the top 408 teams in the World including teams from Israel, Dominican Republic, Chile, Indonesia, Canada, Netherlands, Poland, India, Japan and more. Good Luck Joes!
