Guidance Office News:
· The PSAT/NMSQT is the qualifying test for the
National Merit Scholarship Program. Junior students desiring to enter
this program must take this test. The National Merit Scholarship
Qualifying Test is only administered in October of each year. SJSH
is administering the test on Wednesday, October 11 from 8:00-11:30 am.
Registration
information is posted on our website.
· Dual Credit forms (including
testing results) are due in Guidance Oct. 6, 3pm. All materials on our can
be found on our Guidance website by using the following link:
Wind-Up, Our Newsmagazine:
The
Wind-Up staff is excited to sell their first issue on Thursday, Oct. 5.
Get your subscription today! Forms available in English classrooms, the media
center, and the front office.

Maze-n-blue, Our Yearbook:
The
2017 book is in the process of being delivered to students during school hours.
If you’ve not received your purchased book from last year, see Mrs. Essig in
the front office. If you’d like to purchase a 2017 book, see Mrs. Hunter in
room E511. The Class of 2017 may have a parent or friend pick up their book in
the front office during school hours.
The
2018 yearbook staff has begun their work! They’ve already been out taking
pictures of school events. If you have story ideas and/or photos to submit, or
are interesting in purchasing ad space, contact Mrs. Hunter jhunter@sjschools.org.
Emergency Cards and Student Handbook Receipts:
Currently,
we have (55) Online Student Handbook Acknowledgement Receipts missing and (73)
Emergency Card Update forms outstanding.
Students
are starting to get detentions for not submitting.
Please
check with you student and make sure they have submitted these right away!
Attendance Office News:
Parents – if your student will be needing to leave school for an appointment, it is very helpful to have that request brought into the Attendance office in writing prior to the school day starting so that a pass can be written for the student to take to class with them for release time. Your assistance with this is greatly appreciated!

St. Joseph Tennis News:
St.
Joe Tennis won the Sturgis Invitational on Saturday. The Bear Netters
defeated Zeeland East, Pontiac Notre Dame, and host Sturgis. Winning all
three of their matches to capture flight championships were Will Page at #1
singles, Ryan Okonski at #2 singles, Hudson Wellin at #3 singles, and the #1
doubles team of Mason Scramlin and Aashish Harikrishnan. The Bears are
currently 8-0 in conference play and are ranked #10 in Division 2.
