Rotary Student Program:
The
Rotary Student Program is now accepting applications for the 2017-2018 school
year. For those unfamiliar with the program, it is a global career mentoring
initiative that was developed by the Rotary Club of St. Joseph-Benton Harbor in
2007. It was first piloted here, at St. Joseph High School and now runs in over
142 countries. The program gives students the opportunity to meet one-on-one
with a business professional in their dream career. For the first time, the
program is open to students in 9th through 12th grade, vs. 11th-12th grade as
in the past. Program coordinators want to give students every opportunity to
explore dreams early - well before college applications. Applications for the
program are in the Guidance Office and a short essay will be required. The
application deadline is October 30. For more information, visit www.rotarystudentprogram.org
Khan Academy: (Khan Challenge)
Khan
is an excellent resource that is available free of charge to students in
Michigan. It allows students to log in and review their test scores and
responses and provides access to supplementary lessons aligned with Career and
College Readiness skills. The goal is for students and schools across the state
to realize the benefits of free practice on Khan Academy.

offer students an opportunity to work with Whirlpool mentors and classmates to
design a product solution for a real-world problem. The 63 students from
SJHS are organized into teams and are competing against teams from other local
