Performing Arts Hall of Fame News:
Our newest class of inductees will be honored next week at the Spring Choir concert. There will be a reception at 6:15pm in the John & Dede Howard Auditorium lobby followed by a formal recognition at the beginning of the Spring Choir concert at 7pm. Congratulations to the 2nd class of inductees into the SJHS Performing Arts Hall of Fame!

Sr. Academic Awards: (Last Chance to Submit)
If you have received any awards they must be turned into Mrs. Koch in Guidance Office by today at 3pm if you would like recognition at Sr. Awards Program.
Senior Academic Awards Night: Monday, May 20, 7pm
Seniors: if you have received an academic scholarship from a college, an
academic institution, or organization to further your post-secondary
pursuits, please submit a copy of the letter or award to the Guidance
Office by May 10.
We cannot guarantee your award will be published in the Senior Academic
Award program on May 20 if we do not receive your information by May 10.

Rotary News:
Years ago, the Rotary Club of St. Joseph-Benton Harbor hosted a Student Athlete of the Month program. In 1988, a young athlete, named Gary Hosbein, was one of the honorees. On Monday, May 5, the now Judge Gary Hosbein brought the Student Athlete of the Month program back to Rotary by working in collaboration with the Rotary Club and Kevin Guzzo, Athletic Director of St. Joseph High School.
The first student honored, was Manuel “Manny” Villalobos, who has been considered a role model for baseball teammates as well as Judge Hosbein’s young son. It was only appropriate that Manny was presented to Rotary on Law Day and given the opportunity to share, with several prominent members of our community, his journey to the US from Venezuela and his prayers for those left behind. Manny gave special thanks to Rotarian, Steve Borre, and his family for their support over the years, as well as to his teammates, who he said makes him work harder every day.
Moving forward, Students will be honored from the two high schools that the Rotary Club of St. Joseph-Benton Harbor sponsors - Lake Michigan Catholic High School and St. Joseph High School. This will probably be a good story for the newspaper coming from either SJHS or Rotary (copied Emily Kircher).

If you are unavailable to test on any of the above dates, you are welcome to test at any LMC campus during their hours.
