Last Week for Seniors!
Seniors and Parents - Congratulations!!! This is the last week for seniors.  They will be expected to finish everything up here with their classes this week, however if they are not passing a class or need to finish something that has not yet been completed, they may be asked to return next week for classes by their teachers.  Seniors will receive senior sign-out sheets on Wed. this week and will be getting signatures from all required staff in order to be checked out Fri.

Also, please take a moment and discuss the importance of great choices and decisions over the next couple of weeks leading up to senior events and graduation with your Senior!  Thanks for your continued support parents!

We will be communicating with senior parents and seniors over the next couple of weeks regularly with our automated message system to make sure we have everything in order.  If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us at the high school.

Best.
Mr. Blomgren

Senior Transcripts:
SENIORS:
1.  In order to enroll in your college in the fall, you MUST request your FINAL high school transcript be sent to the college
via Parchment.com by June 1, 2019.

Select your college then the "HOLD FOR GRADES" option (see  instructions below):
Log on to Parchment.com
Enter where you want to send your transcript.
Before you place the order, select “HOLD FOR GRADES” in the drop down, NOT “send now”
(your transcript will be sent once your senior grades are stored, approximately June 14).

2.  In addition, if you have LMC Dual Credit courses to transfer to your college,
you must request your transcript be sent from
Lake Michigan College to your final college
(log on to your LMC Wavelink account and request transcript via their Parchment link).

Interact Club:
On Friday, May 17, the Interact Club of St. Joseph High School celebrated its last Membership Meeting of the school year. Members learned about International needs, provided global and community service, gained leadership skills, met career mentors and had fun building lasting bonds. Club highlights included a trip to the Dominican Republic building a home and bringing Medical care to Haitians, coordinating the Annual Career Night featuring over 70 area professionals, working at the Benton Harbor Soup Kitchen and leading a food drive for the Yeager Family Pet Shelter Humane Society. To improve Club Communications, the ClubView App was built. It was a Stupendous year! Congratulations to 2018-2019 Club President Reilly Igoe and the 114 Members of the Interact Club of St. Joseph High School including, Vice President Nadia Judge, Treasurer Nick Borre, Secretary Eileen Spiegel, Community Service Director Norah Judge, Fundraising Director Cailey Rooker, Mentoring Co-Directors Kayla Flanagan and Elizabeth Paloyan, Public Relations Director Alana Wash, Sergeant-At-Arms for Interact and Rotary Noah Brent, Technology Director and Developed of ClubView Grant Huie and Freshman Ambassador Madison Jackson. Special thanks to Rotarian Advisors Steve Borre, Mary Frey, Jackie Huie and Marian Rosko-Titus and School Liaison Tracy Wagner and all the parents that support Interact Club and Rotary International.

Financial Reality Fair at SJHS:
Thank you very much for your partnership with the Financial Reality Fair today. Attached are some photos from the event. We had a great time working with the students. I hope they enjoyed making lifestyle choices and seeing how it impacted their finances, as they worked through their personal budget. I enjoyed talking with the students ahead of time about financial topics leading up to the Reality Fair, and would definitely like to partner with St. Joseph Schools to host another one next school year.

Senior Service Projects:  (Mrs. Campbell’s Class)
"Seniors from Mrs. Campbell's 21st Century Lit and Writing class reached out to the surrounding communities during their annual Senior Service Project!

These students participated in a food distribution through the Southwest Community Action Agency, (SMCAA) a nonprofit organization that serves people in Berrien, Cass, and VanBuren counties.

Yesterday, this group of 9 students distributed food to 750 households in the Benton Harbor area."

Mites (Michigan Industrial and Tech. Education Society):
Great news!
For the state Mites competition --- if you place 1st-3rd --- you get a plaque.
We got 11 plaques for Graphic Arts!!!
A student - BenWilliams - also won Divisional Grand Award for Excellence in Craftsmanship!
He's the student that you spoke with and saw his magazine when you stopped by our classroom and you looked through the piece. Thanks for your encouragement toward him!!! So happy for him! He seemed really happy about it!

Sports 44 - Sports Equipment
Any student who needs financial assistance with sporting equipment or clothing, please consider shopping at Sports 44. There is a Mike Wagner Memorial account set up, intended to cover the cost of whatever is needed (my husband was a huge sports fan and this would make him happy). Please ask for Chris, the owner, and he will make sure you are taken care of. And special thanks to many people who have donated items to the store in care of the memorial.
We are a quality, used sporting goods and athletic wear store. We take gently used sporting goods and athletic wear on consignment.
