Thanksgiving Lunch at SJHS!

Thanks to Demrhy Youngquist, Denise Klann, and our entire kitchen staff at the HS for preparing our Thanksgiving lunch this past Tuesday at the HS.  They even allowed Mr. Berry, Mr. Guzzo, and myself serve the students. Thanks to our great kitchen staff, they do an awesome job for our students!

Media Center News:
SJHS Media Center News
🔜   The SJHS Book Fair is back!  This year’s book fair will be held in the media center beginning Wednesday, November 28 through Friday, November 30, during school hours.  Cash, check, and cards will be accepted. Thank you for supporting the media center!

💻   Students may now submit to the logo contest for the Ren Baldwin Student Technology Festival 2019.  Please check out the complete contest details: Tech Fest Logo  Entries are due Tuesday, December 4, and winners will receive a $50 gift card from Best Buy.


Business Bites:
Thank you to Larry Morrow of Horizon Bank for speaking to our students at our "Business Bites" lunch on 11/15.  It was great to hear about the banking industry & his career path as well!

Our next "Business Bites" lunch will be on Thursday 12/13 with a technician from City Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning.  Students who attend will be provided pizza.

Berrien County 5th Year Early/Middle College Program Information:
Attention 10th grade students!  Do you want to get a head start on college and in life by earning substantial credit for FREE, while you’re still in high school?  You can by applying to be a part of the Berrien County 5th Year Early/Middle College program! Tuition, books, and fees are provided at no cost to students and families.  

How does it work?  Basically, you will earn substantial college credit up to an associate degree or a career certificate by taking college classes during your 11th and 12th grades of high school.  You will then attend college full-time during “grade 13” in your 5th year of high school.

The application deadline is February 1, 2019.  Only 10th grade students may apply. Don’t delay!  There are a number of components to the application, including taking the AccuPlacer exam offered through Lake Michigan College and Southwestern Michigan College along with collecting a number of letters of recommendation.
