We still have a lot of people to feature and plan to start more
issues early next fall.

Math Club News:
For the second
straight year, St. Joseph High School has finished first in their division in
the Michigan Math League competition. The competition is a series of 6 tests
throughout the year. High scoring students included Kevin Wang, Hudson Wellin,
Ryan Erickson, Rajas Gupta, Gabby Hardy, Anna Miesse, and Prakhyat Rohatgi.
Overall, St. Joseph placed 10th in the state. Congratulations on a great finish.
Key Club:
Key Club thanked Mr.
Bill Hanley for his 13 years of service as our Kiwanis advisor at this week’s
Key Club meeting. He is retiring as our Kiwanis advisor at the end of the
school year. We honored him for all the dedication, hard work, and commitment
he has given to our club since chartering it in 2005! It has been a fun
and busy 13 years! We have grown a ton under his leadership. We
will miss him, his generous heart, and kind smile here at the meetings!
Luckily, we will still have Kiwanis/Key Club events to catch up.
Mr. Hanley, you are one in a million!
Culinary Arts Class:
The Culinary Arts
class attended their last field trip of the year at Tosi’s Restaurant in
Stevensville. The McCrery family rolled out the red carpet for us!
They were so very generous of their time and even taught the students how to
make pizzas in their fire oven. They demonstrated how they make all their
pasta from scratch with a rolling/cutting machine straight from Italy!
They shared the history of the restaurant, stories of the décor, and gave tips
on running a family owned business. They have 5 generations of family
members that have worked at Tosi’s. They also talked to the students
about keeping things fun with new ideas, like there new “chefs table” and the
possibility of curing their own meats in the future. We can’t thank the McCrery’s
enough for their hospitality, and generously feeding us lunch too! Grazie!
