Orchestra News:
This was a recent email shared out by
Mr. Lokey in regards to the impact the SJPS Foundation is having on his program
and students:
I wanted to
send you a quick update on one of the gifts that we received from the
Foundation. Last year, we received money for some recording equipment. Mr.
Jones did some research and we put together a new set up for making higher
quality recordings in the auditorium. We spent some time yesterday recording
the Chamber Orchestra and a String Quartet made of students from Chamber. Take
a moment to listen to the recording below. Not only are these students fine
young musician (they have received extra coaching all year through a grant from
the Fischoff Chamber Music Society), but Mr. Jones and I are very happy with
the quality of the recording. Listen with headphones if you can.
Quartet –
Kathy Zhang, Megan Guldan, Grace Richards, Angela Chen
Thanks for
everything you do to help keep our program at the highest level, and please
feel free to share this with the Foundation.

Over Spring break the resource signs were posted in the bathrooms at Upton Middle School and St. Joseph High School. These were the signs that were highlighted in the SJPS Self-Care Series in February in an email that Mrs. Cardon sent out to the parents in the district. Here is the link to that pdf: https://www.sjschools.org/images/District/SelfCareSeries1.pdf
