Homecoming Week Wrap-up!
Students
and staff showed their spirit during homecoming last week! On Tuesday night,
the Seniors and Freshman defeated the Juniors and Sophomores in an exciting
game of Powder Puff Football. On Friday, our homecoming Royalty was crowned.
Congratulations to our staff King and Queen – Mr. Etter and Mrs. Sheppard. Ryan
Haynes was crowned 2017 Homecoming King during Friday’s Pep Assembly. At
halftime of Friday’s football game Breonna Tate was crowned Homecoming Queen.
Saturday night, over 200 students attended the semi-formal homecoming dance!
Student Senate thanks everyone for their participation and is looking forward
to Winterfest Spirit Week already!

Key Club News:
Key
Club was awarded the WNDU/Martin’s Supermarkets Grant for $1000! The
money will go towards the purchase of fleece that will be used to make blankets
for hospice patients. Key Club members have worked with Berrien County
Blanket Brigade making blankets every month for the last several years.
This has inspired them to bring the project to their Leadership Conferences and
teach other Key Club members around the state. They will do workshops at their
Fall Rally Conference in Mt. Pleasant in November and also at their Service Leadership
Conference in Kalamazoo this coming February. The news segment will air
on WNDU mid-next week.

SAT/ACT Prep Course:
Dear Parents (and Students),
Fall
is the perfect opportunity to start (or continue) training for the ACT and SAT.
I cannot emphasize enough how critical it is to prepare for these exams.
Colleges accept BOTH tests, so there are two keys to try an unlock the same
door when it comes to college admission.
I
wanted to reach out and inform all parents that Dr. Carlin will be hosting his popular SAT/ACT Prep Course at St. Joseph High School beginning
MONDAY November 6 at 7:00 p.m. (Room # LGI in Media Center). Parents
can register online at the link below (http://www.drcarlinstestprep.com/st-joe-hs---satact---nov-2017.html)
Dr.
Carlin does an outstanding job presenting both the strategy and content of these
complex exams at a fraction of the cost of bigger test prep companies, and he
gets results. This course can help students maximize their
scores, opening the doors to more competitive colleges as well as bigger money
scholarships.
