Guidance Dept. News:
·      ‪LMC Dual Credit Registration Information for Fall 2017:
‪     Students enrolled in classes that are eligible for Lake Michigan College Dual Credit received information on September 20.  
‪     A Lake Michigan College representative distributed the registration form and guidelines. 
‪ 
‪         Registration deadline has been extended to October 6, 2017.
‪         Prerequisites and testing requirements must be met prior to submitting the registration form to the Guidance Office.
‪         (Teacher signatures and test scores must be included with form.)

‪         If you have Accuplacer testing questions, please contact LMC at 800-252-1562, ext. 8735.

(Also provides an opportunity for students to improve their test taking skills)

Academic Letter Awards Program:
Student letters and parent letters were sent out last week for those students who earned an academic letter award for last school year.  Students will be recognized at our Academic Letter Award Program, which is scheduled for Oct. 23rd at 7pm in the SJHS Auditorium.


Wind-Up News:
Once again, some of our Wind-Up staffers are featured in the Herald-Palladium. Seniors Lyndsay White wrote about the solar eclipse, and senior Danielle Williams researched National Geographic student expeditions. Senior Nick Moen’s art is also displayed.

Key Club News:
•      It was so HOT this past weekend (9/23 and 9/24) but these dedicated Key Club members cleaned Cleveland Avenue with enthusiasm! Also, thanks to the Dressander family for the popsicles!




•      The 2nd annual Kiwanis Family Fall Festival was a success!  Berrien County foster families enjoyed bounce houses, carnival games, and lunch. So fun! A huge thanks to the volunteers from Kiwanis, SJ Key Club, LHS Key Club, Bridgman Key Club, and Upton Builders Club!





Art Prize:
110 Upton and SJHS students recently attended ArtPrize in Grand Rapids.

Powder Puff Football
What: Senior and Freshman girls will team up against a crew of Sophomore and Junior girls in a game of flag football!
When: Tuesday, October 3rd @ 7:00pm (players should arrive at 6:30pm)
Where: Dickinson Stadium
** Students must have a signed waiver to participate. Please contact Ms. Nowak with any questions. **

Football Game & Team Up Against Cancer Event
Gates will open at 5pm on Friday, October 6th!
•   Food Vendors: Mimi’s Cupcakes, Zoup, Panthers Grill, Cravings, & Biggby Coffee
•   Cancer Survivor Walk: All survivors are welcome to meet in the north-east corner of the stadium at 6:20pm. The SJHS cheerleaders will lead the survivors around the track at 6:40pm.
•   Watch the SJHS Marching Band perform!
•   Cheer on the football team as they take on the Niles Vikings!
•   Witness the crowning of the 2017 Homecoming Queen at half time of the game!
•   Memory Ribbon: Join us at the conclusion of the game, as we create a memory ribbon in the center of the football field!

Semi-formal Homecoming Dance!
•   Saturday, October 7th in the Field House Gym – 8 to 11pm
$5 admission at the door

Congratulations to the “Netflix and Chili” team of Logan Borah, Daniel Okonski, and Ali Koehler as they won 1st Place in the downtown Chili competition Friday night. They competed against 30 other teams (many of whom were professional chefs)!  The judges felt our high school team had the chili with the best texture and most balanced flavors!  They served approximately 600 tasting cups at the Caffe Tosi location. St. Joseph High School News 2/3/20 - 2/7/20 February Bears of the Month:  February Bears of the Month! Congratulations to  Anna Vi & Joe Catania for being recognized as our February Bears of the Month at SJHS! Winterfest Spirit Week: (Next Week!!) Weekend Food Program: Mrs. Wagner and Mrs. Juengling started a weekend food program for 15 families at SJHS!  The food program is sponsored by a teacher and classroom each week. Within the first 2 weeks of the program the remainder of the school year had been scheduled and accounted for by a teacher and their students.  Wow! And Awesome!  SJHS Student Section:  The student section at the Girls and Boys basketball game the past Friday night brought their own version of ESPN to SJHS!!  Very fun and cool!  Literary Magazine News:  St. Joseph High School's 2019 literary magazine , revive has been selected to receive the rank of ...
