Winter Weather:  School Start Time

Parents and students, we would ask that you continue to do your best and plan ahead with winter weather and driving conditions as you come to school in the morning.  Please be safe in your travels to and from school daily and take your time, however we would ask that you please do your best to plan ahead in the mornings so that we can get all students here on time and classes running without disruptions staring at 7:45am.  We appreciate your efforts with this!

Semester Exams:

Reminder that semester exams are quickly approaching.  We want to see all students finish 1^st semester strong and go into their exams with confidence.  Planning for exams should start now and students will be better prepared if they put a little study time in each night leading up to exams on Jan. 25^th-27^th.  School will dismiss at 11am each day of exams.

Wed. Jan. 25^th – 1^st and 2^nd Hour Exams

Thurs. Jan. 26^th – 3^rd and 4^th Hour Exams

Fri. Jan. 27^th – 5^th and 6^th Hour Exams

 

ROBOTICS:

This past Saturday, about 50 SJHS students and Mentors saw the "FIRST" Robotics game reveal for 2017 at Lake Michigan College.  The game "Steamworks", has an Industrial Revolution theme with robots placing gears, loading balls (fuel) into boilers and climbing ropes.  The Average Joes will be working hard over the next 6 weeks to design and build their best ideas on how to score the most points.  The St. Joseph District Event will be March 10 & 11, 2017, where 40 Robotics teams from across the State will compete and set up pit areas in our gyms.

St. Joseph Football News:

Coach Church is proud to announce that the 2016 St. Joseph Varsity Football team had the fifth highest team GPA in Division 3.

Congratulations to senior Marc Tuthill for earning 1st Team Academic All State from the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association.  Marc was one of only 24 players statewide to receive this honor.

Corey Malone Hatcher named to Detroit Free Press and Detroit News Dream Teams.

Senior Pictures Needed:

If you would like to submit a senior portrait for the yearbook, email the picture to Mr. Laukus at mlaukus@stjoebears.com.  The picture needs to be in color, forward facing, rid of any distractions and a head shot. Pictures are due February 28th.
