 Semester Exams: (Next Week)

Reminder that semester exams are quickly approaching.  We want to see all students finish 1^st semester strong and go into their exams with confidence.  Planning for exams should start now and students will be better prepared if they put a little study time in each night leading up to exams on Jan. 25^th-27^th.  School will dismiss at 11am each day of exams.

Wed. Jan. 25^th – 1^st and 2^nd Hour Exams

Thurs. Jan. 26^th – 3^rd and 4^th Hour Exams

Fri. Jan. 27^th – 5^th and 6^th Hour Exams

Scholastic Art & Writing Awards:

Please congratulate following students (click for names of the winners)who won regional Scholastic Awards. Upton MS and SJHS received a total of 99 individual awards! These selected student works will be exhibited at the South Bend Museum of Art from 2/3/2017 - 3/11/2017. 28 of these students won gold and their works will also be judged nationally in New York City. Since 1923, the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards have recognized the vision, ingenuity, and talent of our nation’s youth, and provided opportunities for creative teens to be celebrated.

•          Dress up: Hawaiian Day

•          Pep Assembly at the end of the school day

•          Varsity Basketball games - Hawaiian theme for student sections

•          Dance following the game with Hawaiian theme

Culinary Arts:

Culinary Arts Class had their Annual Cook Off Competition and the winners with their Caprese Poached Egg Sandwich and Homemade Chips from their restaurant called The Brunch Box, are Danielle Cristobal, Jenna Khan, and Kelsey Oberer!

Be sure to come down and try The Fantastic Four's award-winning Chili at the SJ TODAY Downtown Chili Cook Off on Friday, January 27th.  Our team is sponsored by Cafe Tosi and Lake Michigan College.  Come visit Maylee Von Behren, Sarah Leichliter, Mandy Jones, and Devin Kavanaugh and cast a vote for their delicious chili!
