RTI – (Response to Intervention)
Parents, we are excited to let you know that we have been working since last spring to bring RTI to SJHS.  You may be asking what is RTI?  RTI is a way for us to build time into the school day to assist students who may be struggling with specific areas of the content.  Teachers have been working hard in PLC late start days to develop RTI sessions they will be offering to students.  Please note, we will not only be running intervention sessions during this time but we will also be offering enrichment and extension activities as well for students who may not be needing intervention.  Our goal is to implement and offer a 30-minute RTI session this Thurs. Oct. 27th and then follow up with another 30-minute RTI session on Thurs. Nov. 3rd.  We are all very excited about the potential impact this will have on our student body and school community.  If all goes well, we would love to see this become a part of our weekly routine and offer multiple sessions per week for students.

Thanks for your continued support,
Mr. Blomgren – SJHS Principal

PE/Locker Reminder:
Parents and students!  Unfortunately we have had a couple of recent issues with theft in our PE locker rooms.  I am sending out a reminder to all parents and students that it is critical that you use the PE lockers and lock up belongings while in PE class.  The locker room door is and will be locked during the class hour, however it is important that you DO NOT leave your belongings laying out on benches in locker room.  PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU LOCK UP YOUR BELONGINGS!  PE teachers have locks available for student use.

Thank You,
Mr. Blomgren
