NHS Induction Ceremony:  Thurs. May 5th, SJHS Auditorium 7pm.

 
Orchestra Info
 SJHS Chamber Orchestra Performing with Jenison Chamber Orchestra this Friday, May 6 in the SJHS Auditorium at 7pm. Bruce Uchimura, the Western Michigan University Symphony Orchestra Director will be conducting the two groups combined.

Sunday, May 8, 4pm at Howard Performing Arts Center at Howard University. The Lake Michigan Youth Orchestra is performing next Sunday. Sam Turk will be performing Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 5. They will also be performing with the St. Joseph HS Choirs on the final performance of Carmina Burana.

 
Marketing Classes
Marketing students will be attending Young Entrepreneurs Day at LMC Mendel Center on Wednesday May 4.  Students will be competing in a Business Plan competition along with other schools in the 3 county area.

 
Tech Fest Information

Open 6-7:30 p.m. Award ceremony starts at 7:30 p.m.

Key Club
The Emergency Shelter is in dire need of gently used backpacks for men.  Key Club is collecting gently used backpacks for the shelter through May 18th.  It would be wonderful if parents could check closets, basements, etc and send them in to the high school.  Thanks!  Contact Mrs. Berry with any questions.

 
Choir
Congratulations to the SJHS Women’s Ensemble, Darien Scott, Noah Yardley, Madeline Schrock, and Taylor Huie for their participation in State Solo and Ensemble Last Saturday, 4/23. Darien Scott, Noah Yardley, Madeline Schrock, and Taylor Huie all received division 1 ratings for their Solos and Duets.

 
Senior Service Projects
You’re Invited to our Senior Service Project Showcase
Tuesday, May 24th 2016
8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph High School 

This semester, our 21st Literature and Writing seniors have been busy designing and executing Senior Service Projects—a real-world project imagined by students to positivity impact our communities.  From  directing a theatrical production to hosting a benefit concert for the Southwest Michigan Out Center, students have spent the semester bettering our world.
On the morning of Tuesday, May 24th, 80 seniors will have the opportunity to showcase their extensive learning activities and outcomes of the community service projects with a formal presentation.  All 80 seniors will present in front of community-member judges throughout the morning of May 24th, 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. A schedule of presentations will be available soon. Check with your senior to see when he or she presents.
