Sr. Service Projects
You’re Invited to our Senior Service Project
Showcase
Tuesday, May 24th 2016
8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph High
School
This semester, our 21st Literature and
Writing seniors have been busy designing and executing Senior Service Projects—a real-world project
imagined by students to positivity impact our communities. From
directing a theatrical production to hosting a benefit concert for the
Southwest Michigan Out Center, students have spent the semester making our
world a better place.
On the morning of Tuesday, May 24th, 80 seniors will have the
opportunity to showcase their extensive learning activities and outcomes of the
community service projects with a formal presentation. All 80 seniors
will present in front of community-member judges throughout the morning of May
24th, 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
A schedule of presentation is now
available. Check out the schedule by clicking this link.
We look forward to seeing you!

May 23, 2016
Dear Parents of Seniors,
The purpose of this letter is to give you some
information about the end of the year activities involving seniors.
Senior Dinner Dance
The Senior Dinner Dance will be held at Berrien
Hills Country Club on May 27th, 2016 at 6:30pm. Tickets will be on
sale during lunch in the student center.
Baccalaureate Practice
All students wishing to attend Baccalaureate
should meet in the auditorium on June 3rd at 9:30am. We will practice the processional and the
recessional. All students are required to wear cap and gown to rehearsal
practice.
Graduation Practice
Graduation practice will take place on June 3rd
in the competition gym. All seniors need
to report by 10:15am. All students are required to wear cap and
gown to rehearsal practice.
Baccalaureate Ceremony
The senior class officers are organizing the
ceremony. This ceremony has offered a
very nice message to graduates from fellow students and local clergy through
song and scripture. All seniors and
parents are welcome to join us in the auditorium on June 5th, 2016
at 2:30 p.m. in the auditorium.
Graduation Ceremony
This year’s ceremony is Sunday, June 5th
at 6:00 p.m. at Dickinson Stadium. The
graduation ceremony is a formal, dignified recognition of one of life’s major
accomplishments. To make this event
enjoyable and memorable for all who attend and participate. We urge everyone to act appropriately. Shouting, waving, signs or banners, or other
unruly behavior detracts from the recognition all of our graduates have earned
and is disrespectful to others. Everyone
should be able to hear the name of his or her graduate and savor the ceremonial
awarding of the diploma without interference.
Graduation Dress
Caps and gown are to be worn neatly. Do not write on or mutilate your cap and
gown. Appropriate attire for women is a
skirt, slacks and blouses, or dresses, and dress shoes. Men should wear slacks, shirts and dress
shoes. Jeans, cut-offs, shorts, tennis shoes, sandals, etc., are not
appropriate for the occasion.
Seating
There is NO reserved seating. The stadium will open at 4:30 p.m. We ask
that you not claim a seat before that time.
Materials left on seats before 4:30 p.m. will be moved to a collection
area under the stadium.
Parking and Seating for Handicapped
Parking for handicapped will be along the fence
at the north end of the parking lot.
Seating for handicapped will be provided on the track, or we have
handicapped accessibility to the stands.
A golf cart will be available for transportation to the stands if
needed.
Indoor Ceremony
If the weather is bad and we have to move the
ceremony into the gymnasium, only those people with tickets will be admitted to
gymnasium. We have enclosed rain tickets
for this purpose. For those without tickets,
the ceremony will be telecasted in the student center/auditorium via closed
circuit television. Power School
announcer will be used to notify parents if we need to move the ceremony
inside.
Pictures
There will be an area on the track for parents
to take photos of their student receiving their diploma. We ask that you return to your seat after
your student has received their diploma so that others may take photos of their
student.
Graduation Party
The all Night Senior Party begins shortly after
commencement. Busses will depart from
St. Joseph High School. This is an all
night event and students will not be able to leave once they have checked in.
Seniors are advised to bring extra clothing to graduation, so they can change
before boarding the bus. This promises
to be a fun night for your Senior!
Sincerely,
Greg Blomgren
Co-Principal
