Spirit Week this Week: 



Average Joe’s - Robotics News: 

Average Joes Robotics and NASA: Last week Thursday, the Average Joes were one of five teams in

Michigan invited to virtually attend the viewing of the MARS Perseverance landing. Juniors Connor

Aust and Drew Kelleher represented the Joes extremely well. A panel of aerospace experts and a

representative from Senator Gary Peters' office participated, sharing their knowledge and interacting

with students. We are grateful for this Above Average opportunity for Above Average Joes!  


Ren Baldwin Tech Festival: 

The 2021 Ren Baldwin Student Technology Festival is now accepting entries for

projects.  All project entries are due by Thursday, April 15th, and will be

showcased along with winning projects during a virtual festival event on May

7th. Please visit our festival informational website to learn more about entering.


Orchestra News: 

Through the SJPS partnership with the Fischoff National Chamber Music Association we were able to

bring in (virtually) the Thalea String Quartet to work in a masterclass setting. 

 

The Thalea String quartet is currently the Doctoral Fellowship Quartet at the University of Maryland.

One of the HS quartets performed for the Thalea quartet and received feedback and suggestions. The

other students in the class watched and are hopefully able to translate that feedback to their own

playing. 

 



Direct Credit Information: Spring 2021 

LMC Dual Credit Registration Information for Spring 2021:

Students enrolled in classes that are eligible for Lake Michigan College Dual Credit

received information in classrooms, Feb. 9, 2021.   

Registration deadline: Thursday, February, 25, 2021 by 3PM

SAT Prep:

Parents and Students,

As Juniors prepare to take the national SAT on March 13, 2021 or the Michigan mandatory

SAT this April, our hope is to provide students with quality, real-time, professional SAT test

prep.  We trust Dr. Scott Carlin to provide excellent, authentic, in-depth SAT preparation for

college-bound Juniors.

Therefore, We are excited to announce that Dr. Carlin's Test Prep is offering two different SAT

courses this February and March.  Each Live, Webinar Series is a full SAT test rehearsal, working with students through an entire SAT test.  Dr. Carlin provides strategy and content for each question and every problem in each of the four sections of the SAT. The "February" and "March" Series will each utilize a completely different set of SAT test questions for continued practice.

I cannot emphasize enough how critical it is to prepare for these exams, especially with some

colleges going "test optional."  SAT test scores can, now more than ever, set your student's

college application apart from the crowd when it comes to college admission and college

academic scholarship $.  Dr. Carlin has been teaching the SAT for 18 years and has taught his

courses in over 40 different high schools in MICHIGAN and INDIANA.

Congratulations to  Anna Vi & Joe Catania for being recognized as our February Bears of the Month at SJHS! Winterfest Spirit Week: (Next Week!!) Weekend Food Program: Mrs. Wagner and Mrs. Juengling started a weekend food program for 15 families at SJHS!  The food program is sponsored by a teacher and classroom each week. Within the first 2 weeks of the program the remainder of the school year had been scheduled and accounted for by a teacher and their students.  Wow! And Awesome!  SJHS Student Section:  The student section at the Girls and Boys basketball game the past Friday night brought their own version of ESPN to SJHS!!  Very fun and cool!  Literary Magazine News:  St. Joseph High School's 2019 literary magazine , revive has been selected to receive the rank of REALM First Class (the highest honor)

St. Joseph High School News 11/11/19 - 11/15/19 SJHS Musical:  Beauty and The Beast  Online Ticket Sales: https://www.payschoolsevents.com/events/details/8047      Whirlpool Innovation Challenge:  Marketing students competed in the Innovation Challenge at the Whirlpool Headquarters on Monday November 11th.  Students had to innovate a new product and pitch their ideas to a panel of judges.  Students were also partnered with a Whirlpool mentor throughout the process and created a new prototype for their idea.   9th Grade Career Pathway Day:  Dear Freshman Parents: The 2nd Annual 9th Grade Career Pathway Day will be held at the Mendel Center on November 15, 2019 from approximately 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. This event will feature programming from Berrien County Career & Technical Education, post-secondary guided pathways from Lake Michigan College, Southwestern Michigan College and Western Michigan University, along with local business and industry partners showc
