Academic Challenge Team:
The St. Joseph Lions Club hosted the Academic Challenge Team for the annual "Brain Match" last Thursday.  The "Brain Match" has a long storied history dating back to 1997. The teams play for the coveted traveling "Brain Trophy" which is given to the winning team each fall.  After winning the Brain the past six years the Bears had to give it up as the Lions upset the Bears in a tough match. The Bear Quiz Kids still hold the all-time series record 16-7.  Although no MVP is ever awarded, Lion Larry Wagner's completed 9 out 11 questions in a performance that will be remembered for a long time! Participating for the Bears were Nick Strickler, Isabelle Gaver, Prosper Waldman, Max Wariner, Amelia Hines, George Weber, Samantha McLean, and Horacio Moren.
The Academic Challenge would like to thank the Lions Club for their hospitality and support of the St. Joseph Public Schools and the community.
The Bears are now preparing for the WSJM Academic Challenge League which begins this Thursday night.  St. Joseph has won the last three WSJM Championships. The Bears will take on the Rams of South Haven on Halloween night at 7:00 p.m.  The Bears will do their best to send the Rams home with no "treats".

Veteran’s Breakfast:

SAT/ACT Prep Course:
Dear Parents (and Students),
Fall is the perfect opportunity to start (or continue) training for the ACT and SAT.   I cannot emphasize enough how critical it is to prepare for these exams. Colleges accept BOTH tests, so there are two keys to try an unlock the same door when it comes to college admission.
I wanted to reach out and inform all parents that Dr. Carlin will be hosting his popular SAT/ACT Prep Course at St. Joe High School beginning MON Nov 11 @ 7:00 p.m (MEDIA CENTER).  Parents can register online at the link below (http://www.drcarlinstestprep.com/satact---st-joe---nov-2019.html)
Dr. Carlin does an outstanding job presenting both the strategy and content of these complex exams at a fraction of the cost of bigger test prep companies, and he gets results.  This course can help students maximize their scores, opening the doors to more competitive colleges as well as bigger money scholarships.
