Parking and Student Drop Off/Pick Up:
Parents - just a friendly reminder to use the Lakeview Ave parking lot when dropping off and picking up your students.  Please be sure to enter on the North side of Lakeview Ave and refrain from entering on the South side to assist us with traffic flow.  Also, staff members need to use all available parking spaces, so please avoid pulling into spaces during the morning. Thank you for your help!

And to end the week, many students attended the Homecoming Dance on Saturday night! Thank you to everyone for their support and participation! #ONE

Men’s Tennis Team:
Congratulations to the Men's Tennis Team.  The Bear Netters won the Division 3 Regional at Sturgis on Saturday.  The championship was the 20th regional title for St. Joe in 22 seasons.  The win earned the Bears their 22nd consecutive appearance in the State Finals.  St. Joe won the team title tallying 21 points, host Sturgis was second with 13 points.  Lakeshore, Plainwell, and Vicksburg shared third with six points each. Winning flight championships for the Bears were Ryan Okonski at #1 singles, Justice Waldmann at #2 singles, Aashish Harikrishnan and Trey Beauchamp at #1 doubles, Max Kelly and Alex Richards at #2 doubles, Dylan Olson and Kaleb Parrett at #3 singles, and Steven Markert and Will Christy at #4 doubles.  The Bears will compete in the State Finals this Friday and Saturday at Novi.

In winning the #1 singles title, Ryan Okonski lost only one game total in three matches.

ACT/SAT Prep:
Dear Parents (and Students),

Fall is the perfect opportunity to start (or continue) training for the ACT and SAT.   I cannot emphasize enough how critical it is to prepare for these exams. Colleges accept BOTH tests, so there are two keys to try an unlock the same door when it comes to college admission.

I wanted to reach out and inform all parents that Dr. Carlin will be hosting his popular SAT/ACT Prep Course at St. Joseph High School beginning TUE Nov 6, 2018 at 7:00 p.m (MEDIA CENTER).  Parents can register online at the link below (http://www.drcarlinstestprep.com/st-joe-hs---satact---nov-2018.html)

Dr. Carlin does an outstanding job presenting both the strategy and content of these complex exams at a fraction of the cost of bigger test prep companies, and he gets results.  This course can help students maximize their scores, opening the doors to more competitive colleges as well as bigger money scholarships.

The SJHS Key Club had a successful Kiwanis Fall Family Festival again!  Members from our club, along with Bridgman and Lakeshore HS KC hosted a carnival for foster children and their families in September.  Thanks to Kiwanis for sponsoring the event and to the Heart of Cook grants for your support as well!
