Interact Club
"The Interact Club held another informational meeting on Friday, October 12th. We further discussed a few exciting events and a new project we plan on working on in the near future.
At this meeting, we welcomed a special guest, Dr. Prudy Barrett, who shared a few personal experiences as well as further information regarding our birthing kit project. These kits will be individually made by members of Interact (which will include several items used for sanitation purposes, 2 blankets, a razor blade, etc.) and sent to Uganda for pregnant women in dire need. By creating these simple kits, Interact members will be saving several lives. A sincere thank you to Dr. Barrett for joining us at this meeting and promoting the impact of our efforts as a club. Next Wednesday, October 17th, members from Interact are invited to meet at Upton Middle School from 7-8 PM to begin working on the birthing kits being sent to Uganda.

At this meeting we also discussed our upcoming trip to the Dominican in the summer of 2019. Alicia Kusaka, who holds the International Director position, announced that we now have a date set for next year– July 13th through the 20th. More information about our trip will be announced in the future. A video from last year's trip was also shown during the meeting. If you are interested in watching, here is the link!

Career Night will be held on November 13th from 5-7 PM.

The Interact Leadership Conference is on November 3rd.

Career Mentoring opportunities are also available. The Student Rotary Program (see counselors for more details) and a 3 part series of Mentor Training in November. This opportunity includes leadership with Mike Huie, (COO at Johnson Rauhoff) Public Speaking with Edgewater Bank President, Rick Dyer, and Life Success Planning with Mitzi Tompkins (Mitzi is a life coach at Thrive Psychology).

Thank you to everyone who joined us this morning! Our next meeting will be Friday, October 26th at 7:10 AM in the choir room."
