Due to SAT/PSAT Testing on Wednesday this week, we will not have a late start!  SCHOOL STARTS AT 7:45am :)


Prom:


SJHS 2023 Prom: Enchanted Forest
When: Saturday, April 22nd, 7-11 
Where: Shadowland Ballroom 

Tickets are $25 each. Only SJHS juniors and seniors may purchase prom tickets. 
Ticket sales begin Monday, April 10th during A and B lunch--CASH or CHECK made out to St. Joseph Public Schools. 
Ticket sales end on Friday, April 21st, end of B lunch. No ticket sales at the door, the day of the event. 
Guest forms for non-SJHS students must be completed and turned in BEFORE the purchase of a ticket by a SJHS Jr or Sr. Please return guest forms to Mrs. Uzelac in the attendance office. Once approved, you may purchase a ticket for your guest.

SENIOR ACADEMIC AWARDS NIGHT:
Monday, May 15 @ 7pm, SJHS Auditorium

Seniors, if you have received an academic scholarship from a college, an academic institution, or organization to further your post-secondary pursuits, please submit a copy of the letter or award to the counseling office by May 1, 2023. For college scholarships awarded: please only submit the final college you will be attending in the fall.

NOTE: We cannot guarantee your award will be published in the Senior Academic Award program on May 15 if we do not receive your information by May 1.


Congratulations - Rotary Essay Contest

Congratulations to Lincoln White for placing 3rd in the SJ-BH Rotary Essay Contest. Lincoln competed to be the SJHS representative and then he competed against every school in the county. His 3rd place finish comes with a $500 scholarship. He will be honored at a Rotary luncheon later this month. 




IEP’s and 504’s - College Accommodations

April 12, 2023 Leslie Navarro from Lake Michigan College will be available to talk with students with 504-Plans and IEP and their guardians. We will meet at SJHS Media Center from 6:00-7:30.


Leslie is the director of the Student Well-Being and Accessibility office at LMC. She and her colleagues at colleges and universities around the state work with students who have Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504-Plans in high school to provide reasonable accommodations at the next level of education. 


The accommodations are put in place to create an equitable starting line for their education. This process requires students self-identify and advocate. Learn what common accommodations are available to students at college and how to navigate getting those accommodations. 


Whether your student is a freshman or a senior, it is never too soon to start thinking about accommodations.

St. Joseph High School News 2/3/20 - 2/7/20 February Bears of the Month:  February Bears of the Month! Congratulations to  Anna Vi & Joe Catania for being recognized as our February Bears of the Month at SJHS! Winterfest Spirit Week: (Next Week!!) Weekend Food Program: Mrs. Wagner and Mrs. Juengling started a weekend food program for 15 families at SJHS!  The food program is sponsored by a teacher and classroom each week. Within the first 2 weeks of the program the remainder of the school year had been scheduled and accounted for by a teacher and their students.  Wow! And Awesome!  SJHS Student Section:  The student section at the Girls and Boys basketball game the past Friday night brought their own version of ESPN to SJHS!!  Very fun and cool!  Literary Magazine News:  St. Joseph High School's 2019 literary magazine , revive has been selected to receive the rank of REALM First Class (the highest honor)
