College Bound? FAFSA Information: 

GET HELP COMPLETING & SUBMITTING YOUR FAFSA!!

SJHS counseling department will be offering a free FAFSA completion session for seniors and their parents.

Financial aid experts from Lake Michigan College will be available to help with FAFSA completion. 

 

The session will be offered on Monday, November 7 from 5:30-7:00 pm

in the SJHS Media Center Computer Lab 

(arriving before 6:30 pm is encouraged)  

Students and their parents should bring the following:

2021 Tax Return for both the student and parents

All 2021 W-2 forms for both student and parents (if they did not file taxes)

You will need a FSA ID for both student and parent:

If you have created an FSA ID for both student AND parent, bring that log in info with you please.

Yearbook Updates:

1. The 2021-2022 yearbook has been distributed. 

  • Books for the Class of 2022 (graduated seniors) can be requested, then made available in the front office. Email aessig@sjschools.org if you need to get a book for a graduated senior. 

  • If you ordered a book but did not receive it, first check this list then contact jhunter@sjschools.org. 21-22 Yearbook Sales

  • Extras are still available for $70. See Mrs. Essig in the front office or Mrs. Hunter in E511.

2. Reserve the 2022-2023 yearbook now. The price is $65 before December 1. While you may use a credit card, you'll be charged a $5 service fee. Checks are still accepted. Use this form: 22-23 Yearbook Order Form

3. The Yearbook staff would love to receive your images!  Students and parents can contribute candid photos to the yearbook. 

Upload your candid photo(s) to our publisher, Herff Jones’ eShare program: 

  1. Visit this site: www.hjeshare.com

  3. Click on “Upload Photos” and follow on-screen directions.

4. The yearbook staff is also accepting senior portraits now -- they're due by Jan. 31, 2023.  Please follow submission guidelines: Senior Picture Requirements


Key Club News:

The Foods and Nutrition classes have been busy learning ServSafe and perfecting their knife skills.  This takes alot of produce so a big thank you to Gast Family Farms, the Costanza family and Mr. Blake for sharing their beautiful produce with us!

 

  


Hospitality Class News: 

The Hospitality Management classes have also had a lot going on with a visit from Lake Michigan College's Hospitality Management Instructor, Mr. Woodruff and a field trip to the Inn at Harbor Shores where Chef Elton gave them a tour.


Baking Club News: 

The Baking Club was also busy last week making the sugar cookies that will be used during the Maize Day MaddieKakes Bake Shop Class.  We are so excited to learn from Mrs. Haydon!  


Key Club News: 

Key Clubbers had beautiful weather Sunday for our fall Road Clean-up!  Thanks to all who helped!

Congratulations to  Anna Vi & Joe Catania for being recognized as our February Bears of the Month at SJHS! Winterfest Spirit Week: (Next Week!!) Weekend Food Program: Mrs. Wagner and Mrs. Juengling started a weekend food program for 15 families at SJHS!  The food program is sponsored by a teacher and classroom each week. Within the first 2 weeks of the program the remainder of the school year had been scheduled and accounted for by a teacher and their students.  Wow!
