Average Joe’s - Robotics News:

The SJHS robotics team, the Average Joes competed this past weekend at the State Championship in Saginaw. With a qualification round record of 10-1-1, ending in 3rd place on the Consumers Energy field, they served as the 3rd place alliance captain. Winning their quarterfinal matches and losing in the semi-finals, they finished out their Michigan competitions ranked 29 in the State. Even with half as many teams qualifying for the World Championship this year, the Joes are headed to Houston this week. They do not yet have a field assignment, but if you want to keep up with the Joes and watch some streamed matches, follow team 3620 on The Blue Alliance app or site.(https://www.thebluealliance.com/).

The Joes are going to have opportunities to network with teams from all over the World, talk to major companies such as Microsoft, Boeing, Amazon and many others, visit the college scholarship row and compete like crazy. This will be an Above Average experience like no other.

The Joes are also looking for financial support for their travels. Every little bit helps and a link for donations is available on RevTrak. Thank you for all of the support and Go Joes!

Culinary Arts News:

A big thanks to Chef Luis Amado for giving the SJHS Culinary Arts class a tour of the culinary classrooms at Lake Michigan College.  We so enjoyed the chocolate demo and learning more about the programs, degrees, and certifications offered within the department.  Go Red Hawks!
