Happy Holidays from SJHS!

Wishing all of our students and families a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!  We look forward to reconnecting after the new year, we will begin instruction again on Mon. Jan. 4th, hopefully in a face to face capacity :).  Stay safe this holiday season!

Best,

Mr. Blomgren

Remote Schedule Continues this Week:

Second Semester: Instructional Choice Survey

Parents,

As we approach the end of the calendar year we are starting to turn our attention to the second semester.  We would ask that you complete this survey for EACH of your students that attend either Upton or SJHS.  If we do not have a response from you by Friday, January 8th, we will be continuing the student in their current choice, Face-to-Face or the Virtual School.  Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Best,

Mr. Blomgren

Average Joe’s: Robotics

The Average Joes Robotics team will begin their season on January 9. They will most likely begin virtually and hopefully move to face-to-face as the season progresses. If you are interested in participating please click here to sign up for the team. Sign ups will close on January 5. More information will follow after sign-ups. Go Joes!

Athletic Training News:

Olympic Visit!

Our CTE Athletic Training teacher, Mrs. Jamie Hall, hosted a Google Meet call today with her 5th and 6th hours with 3 members of the Team USA Women’s Ice Hockey team who won a Gold Medal in 2018.  Dani Cameranesi, Hannah Brandt and Lee Stecklein (not in order) all participated in the call as part of Ms. Hall’s class at the high school.

The players discussed the importance of working with Athletic Trainers at the collegiate, Olympic and professional levels.

Mrs. Hall was an Athletic Trainer at the University of Minnesota when these players played collegiate hockey and won two national championships.  Students had time to ask questions during today’s call and really enjoyed the chance to converse with our Olympians.

Tony Witkowski interviewed Mrs. Hall and our three gold medalists after the call. A story may appear in the H-P next week.
