High School to Help Fundraise for Flint

Our high school students will have the opportunity to help raise funds for the people of Flint during the week of February 1-5.  Obviously this is a very tragic situation, and the citizens of Flint will be in need for some time as they look to recover from this situation.   I am impressed over and over by the generosity of our students, both with their time and with their resources.  Other buildings in our district are also taking part in fundraising activities to help Flint.

During that week, students will be able to donate during their lunch period.  Student Senate representatives will be helping to collect money for the week.  Students who donate $5.00 or more will be entered into a drawing to win gift cards from local establishments and free admission to upcoming sporting events.

The United Way of Genesee County and the Community Foundation of Greater Flint have established a fund for the families and children impacted by the lead.  The website is:  www.flintkids.org  Information about sending your own monetary donation can be found on the website.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
