Winterfest Week at SJHS! 




DECA News: 

Last Friday Jan 20th, 45 DECA students competed at WMU- Haworth College of Business for the District 3 Competition.  Students had the opportunity to compete individually or with a teammate in a variety of role play events encompassing concepts of business management and administration, travel and tourism,  entrepreneurship, marketing and finance concepts.  



Congratulations to the following 26 students who earned the red, white and blue medallion and the opportunity to compete at the State Leadership Conference in Detroit, MI on March 9th-11th.

Culinary News: 

SJHS Culinary Program had 2 teams this year competing in the Downtown SJ Chili Cook Off this past Friday.  They were up against restaurants and trained chefs but they held their own!  Winners should be announced later this week!

Scholarship - Seniors and Parents of Seniors!!

There is a great new scholarship opportunity, the Michigan Achievement Scholarship! Complete the FAFSA to see if you qualify - 80 percent of students are eligible if attending college in Michigan.

Yearbook Updates:

1.  Reserve the 2022-2023 yearbook SOON! The price is now $65. While you may use a credit card, you'll be charged a $5 service fee. Checks are still accepted. Use this form: 22-23 Yearbook Order Form

If you get an email reminder from Herff Jones, our yearbook publisher, you have NOT reserved a book yet.


2. The yearbook staff is also accepting senior portraits now -- they're due by Jan. 31, 2023.  Please follow submission guidelines: Senior Picture Requirements


3. The Yearbook staff would love to receive your images!  Students and parents can contribute candid photos to the yearbook.
