LSJ Hockey News:

Support for Mattox!

Thank you to Lakeshore High School and to all of our St. Joseph High School students and parents who

came out to support Mattox Williams at the Freshman basketball game this past Friday night.  Mattox

recently received some very unfortunate health related news and we will continue to rally behind

Mattox and his family to support them in any way possible!

Scholastic Art and Writing Awards:

I'm happy to announce the results of the Scholastic Art and Writing Competition. For those who don't

know about this competition, it is a pretty big deal for the Art Department. We use shows and

competitions to see how our program measures up (locally and nationally). The Scholastic Arts

Competition is like our state championship.

Students who have their work accepted are given one of three awards (Gold Key, Silver Key, and

Honorable Mention). Just to be accepted is a big achievement for our students. All Gold Key winners

will now be judged nationally.

Here is a quick breakdown

HS

18 Gold Key Winners (1 nominee for the American Vision Award)

21 Silver Key Winners

24 Honorable Mention

Upton

2 Silver Key Winner

4 Honorable Mentions

Here is a more detailed list of winners.

Mr. Culver, Mrs. Beam, and I could not be more proud of our students! However, the Elementary Art

Teachers need to receive recognition too! Our students would not be as successful without the hard

work from Mrs. Warsow and Mrs. Huber.
