National Student Walkout:
Parents – want to inform you of the National Student Walkout Day students have been organizing and plan to participate in as a means to have their voice heard with regards to school safety.  Students at SJHS have been spreading the word with the attached letter and through social media.  In anticipation of a student led walkout, we are taking the necessary steps in planning to make sure the students will conduct themselves in an organized and orderly manner.  Please know this is a voluntary student organized event and we as a staff will be here to make sure the necessary supervision is in place.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

Robotics News:
The 2018 FIRST Robotics event at St. Joseph HS this past weekend started out frustrating for the home team Average Joes.  However, with persistence, hard work and team work the Average Joes moved from 38th place to 10th place by the end of the Qualifying rounds.  During the Elimination rounds, the team was the second pick overall and teamed up with team Excel from Niles.  The alliance played hard and made it all the way to the Final round.  In the Finals, the teams battled hard and the Average Joes' alliance ended as Runner up for the event.  The Average Joes also won the Judges Award for the event.  The Joes compete next at GVSU on March 23 & 24.
