Berrien County - Teens Exhibiting Able Minds (TEAM) Survey
Parents:  We will ask students to voluntarily take the Berrien Community Foundation’s TEAM Survey on Monday, April 10 during our PA Announcements.  The results of the survey will help the Youth Advisory Committee for the Berrien Community Foundation better allocate grant dollars to programs that will help our youth in Berrien County.

Please talk with your student if you don’t want them to participate in this short voluntary online survey.

Robotics News:
Update from district event at Grand Valley the weekend of March 24th-25th.

We played 9 out of 12 qualification rounds on Friday and ended the day in 9th place (out of 41). Saturday was extremely successful as we won our final three qualification matches, which placed us in first place going into the alliance selection. We won both the quarterfinals and semifinals and were eliminated in the finals. This second place finish gave us a finalist ranking. We also earned the Excellence in Engineering Award and a safety award.

The points earned at the SJ (73) and West Michigan (63) Events have earned us a third place ranking in the State out of 451 teams. It is estimated that teams will need a minimum of about 53 District Points to qualify for the State Competition. The Average Joes have 136 points.

We are so proud of the students as they not only performed well with the robot, but also represented the school, district and community well. The hotel staff (this was our third stay there) complimented our students as one of the best high school groups they ever have.

Choir News:
Congratulations to Soloists Megan Yacobozzi, Ethan Bowman-Hawkins, and the SJHS Women’s Ensemble for receiving Division 1 ratings at MSVMA State Solo and Ensemble!

Sr. All Night Party Information:

Get On The Bus….We’re Cruising to Chicago!

Parents of the Class of 2017,

Plans are under way for the annual Senior All-Night Party that immediately follows the graduation ceremony June 4.  As in years past, we will spend our night around Navy Pier.  This will include time at Dave & Buster’s, seeing an amazing hypnotist show, and boarding a cruise ship for 2 hours to play games, eat and dance the night away, all while sailing along the Chicago Skyline.  Students will return to the high school at 6:00 am.
We can provide all this to our students for $75 for the entire evening!!!  This includes meals, charter buses, bowling/bocce, hypnotist show, cruising, dancing, and a night they will never forget!
Our committee has many fundraisers already planned to cover the remaining cost.  We have the following dates scheduled so far, so please help us spread the word!
·      Thursday – April 13, 2017 – Lakehouse By Cravings – All Day
To reserve your student’s spot, please return the enclosed form along with a check made payable to SJPS and write SANP in the memo section.
We realize the cost may be prohibitive for some and want EVERYONE to be able to attend.  If you are able to donate extra money towards a scholarship, we would greatly appreciate it.  If you are in need of a scholarship for your student or have any questions, please contact your counselor or Martha Schultz-Johanski at maschultzsj@gmail.com.
